This page has short biographies of the first family of the second generation (Henry GEYER and Anne COGHLAN). Much of the information is limited and we are seeking to expand the details:

Anne GEYER

Annie was the eldest child of Heinrich and his new wife Annie, presumably being named after her mother. She was born a little over 13 months after her parent's wedding on October 21, 1858 and the birth was registered at Mt Gambier.1

Annie married James McDonald on January 22, 1875 in Wilcannia by Father Matthew Ryan NSW BDM 3095/1875) James was a stock-keeper, normally resident at Hoodsville station on the Paroo river. Annie was a domestic servant in Wilcannia.2

Henrietta GEYER

Appears to have died young. Her brother Erhard's birth certificate3 in 1869 notes previous issue as 4 females living and 1 deceased. Living would be Anne Julia, Mary, and Nettly whom we know reached adulthood - therefore Henrietta was deceased. None of the intervening birth certificates have been sighted, so the date of death has not been narrowed to before 1869.

Julia GEYER

Julia GEYER and George WELTON were married on March 4, 1878 at H.GEYER's house in Hay, NSW by Rev.Samuel ROBINSON. The witnesses were H.GEYER and Wilhelmina HURST. The couple were both rsidents of Hay.4

Victoria Nettley GEYER

Born Netley Station, Lower Darling river near Pooncarie 1866. Birth not registered. 5 Married at St. Thomas Church, Narrandera on June 6, 1892 to Thomas Lewis DAVIES, a brickmaker. Nettly was a domestic. At the time of their marriage, the couple were normally resident in Narrandera.6 (NSW BDM 5358/1892)

Erhard GEYER

Erhard was born at Wilcannia on November 7, 1868 and was registered at Bourke as Erchert.7 This is probably an anglicisation of Erhard, his paternal grandfather's name. He seems to have been known as Harty, and one of his sons also carried this name. Married to Beatrice SMITH at St.Virgilius Church in Hay, NSW on Nov 8, 1892 by Father Michael TRACEY.8 The witnesses were Alfred CAMPBELL and Tilly GEYER. Harty was a labourer and Beatrice was a servant, and both were resident in Hay.

The couple were resident in Bendigo, Vic. prior to World War One.9

William GEYER

Appears that William may have been in trouble with the law. Photos of a William GEYER were taken at Bathurst prison10 No further details as yet.

Humphrey GEYER

Born at the family home in Lachlan St. Hay.11 Died aged 3 years following convulsions which lasted 24 hours.12 Buried in the Hay cemetery. His father was later buried with him.
